Following the recent suicides of at least four students at the University of Colorado Boulder, including 18-year-old freshman Manny Pargman, the community is emphasizing that mental health is everyone’s responsibility. In response to these tragedies, CU Boulder has increased efforts to provide support through free counseling services, faculty training, and peer support programs. Informal support systems, such as weekly gatherings organized by Manny’s fraternity brothers at the campus Chabad house, offer spaces for open discussions about grief and mental health. These initiatives reflect a broader acknowledgment that addressing mental health challenges requires collective action and a culture where seeking help is encouraged.
